Founding Partner of Milosavljevic & Dabetic, Aleksandar Milosavljevic attended this years’ Legal Pro Forum at Zlatibor’s Tornik hotel on the topic of the fine line between responsible tax planning and illegal evasion.
Aleksandar Milosavljevic has spoken alongside his colleagues Andrej Jelenkovic, Dejan Mrakovic and Stefan Petrovic, while the moderator of the panel discussion was Bojan Stanivuk.
The speakers drew several conclusion, the most important of which is that the judicial system needs more trained personnel and that it needs to increase its knowledge regarding all matters related to tax.
According to them, lawyers need to pay extra attention in the application of double taxation treaties and avoid abusing the provisions of such treaties, as lawyers themselves need to be perfectly aware which provisions constitute offences.
The speakers also agreed that consultants who perform tax optimization and prepare plans need to be very aware of the lines that should not be crossed so as to avoid any potential tax evasion offences.
