Dejan Dabetić, LL.M. was responsible for the entire process of negotiations and the implementation of double taxation treaties (DTTs) between the Republic of Serbia and other countries for almost 40 years as the Head of the Serbian delegation.

Out of 64 treaties Serbia currently applies, Dejan directly negotiated 60. In total, he took part in negotiations for around 100 treaties, 40 of which are still not in effect.

Dejan is the author of all Serbian official rulings (opinions) regarding the application and interpretation of concluded treaties.

He actively participated in numerous international symposiums, seminars, workshops, and forums (organized by the OECD, UN, and other international organizations) on cross-border taxation, often being invited as a lecturer.

Dejan has actively cooperated with OECD for more than 23 years, up until 2025, during which time he was the Serbian delegate in the Inclusive Framework (IF), Working Party 1 (WP1) in charge of DTT Issues, FTA MAP Forum, in charge of Mutual Agreement Procedures, etc.

Dejan was responsible for the Exchange of Information (EOI) under DTTs, as well. He is the leading expert in this field in the both in Serbia and on the international stage.

He has published a number of surveys of solutions included in the DTTs between the Republic of Serbia and other countries.

After joining Law office Milosavljevic & Dabetic, Dejan has put his immense knowledge and experience into helping our clients better understand the tax treatment of domestic and international cross-border transactions and by doing so fully comply with all legal tax obligations.
